How You Should Spend Vietnamese Dong When in Vietnam

by Xchange Of America ~ August 31st, 2016

When traveling in Vietnam you’ll find plenty to do and a lot of exciting areas to visit. It’s a good idea to bring Vietnamese dong, the local currency, with you when you travel there, as there are plenty of things to do that may require you to have cash. For example, there are often sightseeing tours, street vendors, taxis, and other service professionals who will only take cash as a form of payment. Debit card and credit card machines are not as common as you might think in the country. So be sure that you have enough currency with you when you are traveling to Vietnam, and if you use a trustworthy exchange like Dinar Inc. you will get a great deal on your currency purchase.

There are plenty of street vendors and restaurants that take Vietnamese dong

When traveling in Vietnam you will likely want to carry a combination of dollars and Vietnamese dong, based on what other travelers have mentioned. You will find a wide range of delicious street food options when traveling there. Some side dishes are only around 4,000 dong, but they are small portions. You can expect to spend about 30,000 to 40,000 dong at an inexpensive restaurant for a larger meal, which is the equivalent of a few dollars or less. As you can see you can travel on a very low budget when in Vietnam, and you won’t need to spend very much money outside of your plane ticket.

Accommodations in Vietnam

You can expect to spend around 100,000 VND per night for a hotel, which is just a few dollars per night. Most of the hotels that are offered to foreigners are high quality with air conditioning, television, a bath and sometimes a refrigerator. There are also many amenities that are normally included with a hotel room such as shampoo, toothbrush, towels, soap and others. If you choose to not use air conditioning you can sometimes save a few dollars on the cost of a room if you really prefer. However, it is well worth the cost as temperatures can be quite hot during many parts of the year, and you will want to sleep comfortably. There are cheaper accommodations available, and the cost of hotels will vary significantly from one part of the country to another.

Be careful of spending too much in tourist areas

In recent years, prices have risen in the tourist areas of Vietnam such as Halong Bay and Angkor Wat. In some of these areas you may end up paying prices that are similar to what you would pay in European destinations. In these areas you may want to pay in dollars or Vietnamese dong, but it’s recommended to avoid spending too much there if at all possible, and spending most of your money in the less traveled parts of the country. Many travelers recommend visiting the rural areas and other parts of Vietnam to get more of a true feel of how the country really is, but of course that is up to you once you travel there.

How Much Does It Cost to Have Fun in Vietnam?

by Xchange Of America ~ August 30th, 2016

Vietnam has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world because of its low living cost, great exchange rate with the U.S. dollar, and its beautiful scenery and other attractions. Although costs in some more highly visited parts of the country have started to rise, you can still have a great vacation on a budget or even live in Vietnam for an extended period of time. There are a lot of other reasons to consider traveling to Vietnam, and in general it remains one of the top countries to travel to in the world and Southeast Asia.

Beer and cigarettes can be inexpensive in Vietnam

Cigarettes and beer are relatively inexpensive in Vietnam. In fact, many people who don’t smoke in the United States because of the high cost of cigarettes will often choose to smoke in Vietnam because of their low cost. A pack of Vietnamese cigarettes will cost about 5000 VND, while a pack of imported cigarettes will cost more at around 20000 VND. However the price is still significantly lower than what they cost in most Western countries. Beer is also relatively cheap as well, at around 7000 VND for a bottle of local beer and around 20000 VND for a bigger bottle of a beer like Tiger Beer from Thailand. Imported beer is around 30000 VND for a 12 ounce bottle. A beer called bia hoi is a fresh beer made without any preservatives, and it is meant to be consumed the same day. This beer costs around 4000 VND for a mug.

Getting around doesn’t cost much

Motorcycle taxis are a common way to get around town, and short trips will cost around 10000 VND while longer trips will cost more. Bus service is available throughout Vietnam, but you can expect bus travel to be crowded and uncomfortable in comparison to the motorcycle taxis. Tour buses and first class buses are available, however, that are less crowded and equipped with better seating and amenities, and they will cost slightly more. These buses usually only travel to the tourist centers of Vietnam, so you will be stuck on those routes. However, many of these areas are also some of the best parts of the country to visit, and if you plan on traveling there you certainly shouldn’t skip them.

Food is also cheap

You can also expect food to be a low cost when traveling in Vietnam; there are several street vendors who won’t charge you very much for food while you are there. Street food is just around 4000 to 1000 Vietnamese dong per meal. A restaurant meal can be anywhere from 30000 to 40000 VND. You won’t be spending very much money on food in Vietnam as you can see, and it’s the perfect country to take a family to for a family vacation or to travel to as a couple, as you will very likely spend much less than $40 per day as a couple and under $75 per day as a family. With a relatively small vacation budget you can enjoy the best of what Vietnam has to offer, but be sure to contact

Traveling to Iraq – What to Know

by Xchange Of America ~ August 29th, 2016

Although you may not be sure about the safety of traveling to Iraq because of recent events and terrorism in many parts of the country, the truth is that there are still several parts of the country that are safe to travel to, especially in the South. You need to follow every recommended security precaution when traveling there, including what the U.S. government recommends. Before traveling, it is a good idea to purchase Iraqi dinars from a trustworthy dinar exchange like Dinar Inc. so that you have a sufficient amount of the local currency prior to traveling. You may need dinars for purchases like taxis, food, item purchases, hotels and other expenses.

Iraq has a diverse geography

One thing that the mainstream media often neglects to do is to report on the different geographies of Iraq. The country is certainly not homogenous, and there are several parts that are not as dangerous as the areas controlled by the Islamic State (ISIS) and other groups. The reality is that business in Iraq must continue in spite of these dangerous threats and armed groups, and much of that business has been continuing peacefully in the Southern portion of the country. Anyone who is planning on traveling to the country for business should be careful to follow security guidelines, however, it does not mean that travel to Iraq should be completely avoided at all costs.

About 2/3rds of Iraq enjoys security

According to the Brookings Institute, a leading Washington think tank, approximately 2/3rds of the country still enjoys security at a similar level of nearby countries like Morocco and Egypt. There are many foreign companies operating in the South of Iraq that employ tens of thousands of people and there are many international fights every day in and out of the country that are filled with businessmen. Even on the frontlines with ISIS, many of the oil rich areas are hundreds of miles from ISIS occupied territories, according to the Brookings Institute. Iraq has maintained a relatively high level of security in the areas that it has controlled,

If you need to travel to Iraq be sure to purchase dinars

With this in mind, there still are several areas that are relatively safe to travel to, as long as basic security precautions are taken. It is a good idea to travel with the local currency, the Iraqi dinar, prior to traveling to the country. Dinars can be used to tip drivers, for food, and for other purchases if you happen to be traveling in Iraq. The exchange rate is also very favorable at the moment compared to the U.S. dollar, and that means that you can purchase a large quantity of dinars at a relatively low cost at the moment. As the situation in Iraq continues to be stabilized, there will be more business and work opportunities, and in spite of the violence in the country life has continued to go on at a good pace in many parts of the country, with excellent progress being made in several local industries.

Purchase Dinars Before Traveling to Iraq

by Xchange Of America ~ August 28th, 2016

Iraq has been in the news often lately, but it remains a country that most people know relatively little about. Traveling to the area is not as unsafe as what many people think, as long as travel is restricted to certain parts of the country. For those who need to travel to Iraq for work, as a part of the military, or for business, there are many reasons why you should consider buying dinars prior to visiting the country. With a sufficient amount of dinars, you can purchase items like food, transportation, clothing and other items, without having to worry about finding a currency exchange.

Overseas currency exchanges can be expensive

There’s no telling how much you can be expected to pay for a currency exchange once you arrive in Iraq. The cost for a currency exchange can much higher than what you would even pay at an airport currency exchange, because of the fact that many currency exchanges know that travelers have very few if any other options. The fees can end up making it difficult to justify a currency exchange, and U.S. dollars are not accepted in every part of the country. Many merchants, vendors and other service providers prefer to receive dinars, and if you don’t have them when traveling there you may miss out on some opportunities because of this.

You can keep your extra dinars in a hotel safe

It’s recommended to have a sufficient amount of dinars with you when you are traveling there, and if you don’t want to take a lot of cash with you when you are out and about, you can keep your dinars in a hotel safe. There are several secure parts of the country where the local army and military have a strong presence, and there are little to no concerns about petty theft, as the vast majority of Iraqis are very friendly, hospitable and nice. You will very likely enjoy your trip to Iraq assuming that you are traveling to the peaceful areas of the country. In any case it is a good idea to bring dinars with you prior to traveling there, as you’ll end up avoiding having to find a currency exchange at the last minute or not being able to pay for an item once you’ve traveled.

Buy them online to save money

When you buy dinars on our website, Dinar Inc. you will save a significant amount of money compared to most other methods of buying dinars. Airport exchanges will charge you fees of 20% or more of your currency exchange cost, and these fees are simply not worth it. Other exchanges also charge ridiculous service fees, but Dinar Inc. never charges extra fees and offers some of the top exchange rates that you can find for dinars. If you are planning on traveling to the Iraq area for any reason at all, be sure to purchase dinars ahead of time, and you can purchase them in any quantity that you need and have them shipped directly to your door no matter where you are in the United States or the world.

What Causes Changes in the Dinar Exchange Rate?

by Xchange Of America ~ August 24th, 2016

The dinar exchange rate is just like any other currency exchange rate for any other country. Exchange rates are affected by a wide range of factors including the current stability of the country, the debt and GDP of a country, industry and economic growth, unemployment rates and a wide range of other factors. The dinar exchange rate will often fluctuate dramatically, as Iraqi is a country that is still in a growth process and there are many changes occurring as the country attempts to stabilize its northern regions. Interest rates also influence exchange rates as well as inflation, and these two factors are some of the most important in terms of their effect on the exchange rate.

A country with higher inflation will often have a lower currency value

As a general rule, countries with a higher inflation rate will have a lower currency value compared to other countries that have a lower inflation rate. Some countries that had a low inflation rate in the last half of the 20th century, as one example, included Switzerland and Japan. Their currency strength benefitted from their low inflation rate, while countries with a higher inflation rate would often see their currency depreciate compared to their trading partners. A high inflation rate is often correlated with a higher interest rate for debt, and by manipulating interest rates, central banks can influence the Dinar exchange rate and other countries’ exchange rates and affect inflation.

Account deficits affect the exchange rate

The balance of trade between two countries shows all of the payments for services, interest, dividends, and products between one country and all of its trading partners. If there is a deficit, meaning that the country is spending more money on foreign trade than it is making from foreign trade, it will need to borrow money from foreign sources in order to make up for that deficit. With this increased demand for foreign currency, the dinar exchange rate and other exchange rates can be lowered. This occurs until foreign products and services are too expensive for citizens of the country, and domestic services and goods are cheap enough to be attractive for foreigners.

Exchange rates are complex

The reality is that dinar exchange rates and other exchange rates are not just determined by the factors mentioned above, but a very wide range of other factors that often leaves the most experienced economics unsure. There are a few major factors that economists understand are major influences on exchange rates, but in spite of what might be expected when higher inflation rates or trade deficits occur, currency values are often a force of nature and will many times be unpredictable. This type of event occurred recently with the Brexit vote as the value of the British pound dropped to 31 year lows and there was a major economic fallout. With various economic and political events affecting currency exchange rates, it cannot be known how any particular country’s rate will change, and even the most experienced economists have a great deal of uncertainty when trying to understand and analyze how currency exchange rates work.
